Dilatation of the cardiac right chambers is a frequent cause for study in cardiac imaging laboratories. Although on many occasions etiological diagnosis can be guided by transthoracic echocardiography, it is sometimes necessary to use advanced cardiac imaging techniques (CT/MRI) to reach a definitive diagnosis. In this article we present a case of a middle-aged patient in whom a diagnosis of superior venous sinus-type atrial septal defect associated with partial anomalous pulmonary venous drainage was made after the initial evaluation of dilation of the right cavities of uncertain cause.
